Why Wood?
Timber windows are the new generation.

It is becoming increasingly accepted in Britain, that timber offers the way forward for windows. In recent years there has been a leap forward within the timber window industry in general, learning lessons from Scandinavian and other continental countries where wooden windows are far more widespread and perform under more severe weather conditions than our own. Using that latest developments in glazing, weather seals, protective paint finishes, and hardware and with a minimum of care, our products will last a lifetime.

During the push to build new housing after the Second World War, large numbers of wood windows were needed quickly and cheaply and with limited resources available. These windows were a basic design, wholly without aesthetic appeal, and were generally constructed with cheap untreated pine. A decade or so later this generation of windows was already in very poor shape, the timber was starting to rot, windows were warped and ill fitting letting draughts in, and the glazing was beginning to be outdated.
